In July 2022, for nearly 3 weeks we took care of a wounded juvenile hummingbird. Part hope and part knowing how it would turn out. Feeding it every 20 minutes when it was awake and interested. Taking turns taking it along with us to work in order to see to it that it was fed. Spending time with it outside in the yard. Playing bird sounds for it when it was inside. A big undertaking for something so small. Sometimes I would paint when it was my turn to sit with the bird. This archive of work is from “The Hummingbird Diaries”.
